DIARY ENTRY 3/1/17
Shot on 35mm film.
A month ago, I decided to go see Rick Owens' furniture exhibit over in Los Angeles. It took a while to find, I wasn't too sure if the exhibit was actually inside of the Pacific Design Center, or outside. My girlfriend and I were with my sister and cousin, wandering around aimlessly to find out where it was.
Eventually we found a friendly security guard, who escorted us to the right building. The building stood tall, roughly two stories. It was a very muted brownish-red color and looked as though it's been aged for years and years. We walked in and on the first floor we saw a silent video of Rick Owens himself, designing one of his articles of clothing. He draped it on top of a dress form, then adjusted different sections, measured, adjusted again, etc. Our group continued up the stairs until we reached the second floor. There was unconventional furniture placed across the room. Unfortunately, I was unable to get any steady photos, please excuse the blur.
Should've brought a tri-pod
A projected video of Michèle Lamy
He used actual fur for some of his furniture HAHAHAHA
Then after, we went to Little Tokyo to grab some food. We were extremely hungry and were down for whatever was cheapest.
Bulgogi, yum.
Overall, it was a really exciting experience. I got to hang out with my girlfriend and family. You can never go wrong with that.
